Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is forecasting unhealthy air quality for “sensitive groups” from Wednesday, May 25 through Saturday, May 28.

Free fishing licenses August 15

Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has designated Saturday, Aug. 15, as the second of two “Free Fishing License” days scheduled for 2015.

Piping Plover — Piping plovers need special protection throughout their nesting season and especially during the increased beach activity over the long Memorial Day weekend. By obeying the posted signs and staying away from fenced areas, beach visitors can avoid disturbing the nesting birds.

CT DEEP takes measures to protect shorebirds
