Warde gives up only four matches

The fifth-ranked Fairfield Warde wrestling team defeated Fitch of Groton, Masuk of Monroe and New Canaan at home on Friday.
Coach Jason Shaughnessy’s Mustangs lost only four matches in the three duals.
Jack Anderson (59 seconds at 113 pounds), Dan Ebert (1:50 at 120), Charlie Kane (3:18 at 126), Aaron Beinstein (58 seconds at 132), Dylan Bender (1:54 at 145), Thomas Anania (5:49 at 170), Eric Rodriguez (1:58 at 182) and Brandon Pianello (2:54 at 195) all won by fall in the 77-3 win over Fitch.
Pharoah Eaton (18-3 technical fall at 138) also won for Warde on the mat.
Jack Price (1:00 at 106), Anderson (35 seconds), Ebert (1:24), Eaton (27 seconds), Bender (1:49) and Anthony Rotz (2:44 at 152) had pins in the 63-18 victory over Masuk.
Kane won a 10-3 decision.
Anderson had his third first-period pin versus New Canaan, as Warde blanked the Rams 74-0.
Ebert won a 14-1 major decision, Kane a 4-3 decision, Matt Coppola pinned in 48 seconds at 132 pounds, Bender won a 4-1 decision, Philip Neamontis a 15-4 major decision at 152, Rotz a 28-second pin, Pianello a 1:41 pin and Amed Horani pinned in 1:27 in the heavyweight division.
