Ludlowe ups win total to 24

The Fairfield Ludlowe wrestling team defeated Bridgeport Central 60-18 and New Haven Co-op 54-18 on Saturday to improve its program-best record for wins to 24 on Friday.
Even resting two wrestlers to rehabilitate injuries and forfeiting two weights, the Falcons only gave up 18 points in each match.
Against Bridgeport, there were 10 weight classes wrestled and Ludlowe won all 10 with seven pins.
Against New Haven, Ludlowe won 9-of-10 matches wrestled with five pins.
Ludlowe has one more dual meet to wrestle, which is Tuesday against Harding of Bridgeport.
Six of Ludlowe’s losses have come from teams ranked in the top 10 teams in the state.
On Saturday, Ludlowe will host the JV Southern Ct JV Championships.
In the win over Central, George Wales (3:25 pin at 106 pounds), Ben Batulanon (3:12 pin at 113), Bobby Clark (3:05 pin at 126), Kyle DeCruccio (30-second pin at 132), Chase Lind (3:27 pin at 138), Peter Clark (8-5 decision at 145), Angel Bauro (10-8 overtime decision at 152), Joe Sokolski (1:41 pin at 170) and Ben Brzoski (1:55 pin at 195) won on the mat.
Wales (1:06 pin), Batulanon (2:41 pin), Bobby Clark (1:28 pin), DeCrucio (2:40 pin), Lind 6-2 decision), Peter Clark 4-1 decision, Bauro (7-0 decision), Sokolski (31-second pin) and Lyle Pietrzak (4-3 overtime decision at 182) earned wins versus New Haven.
