Fairfield woman charged with leaving children alone in car

A Fairfield woman faces charges after police said she left two children alone in a car in the parking lot at CVS, 961 Black Rock Turnpike, around 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.

Tatum Roberts, 29, of Jennings Road, is accused of leaving two children, ages 9 and 3, in a vehicle while she shopped inside the store.

Police noted that the outside temperature was 19 degrees at the time.

Roberts reportedly told officers she “did not see what the problem was.”

She was charged with two counts of leaving a child younger than 12 unsupervised. She was released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 5.
