Ludlowe second at Duals

The Fairfield Ludlowe wrestling team placed second at the Glastonbury Duals on Saturday.
Coach Nick Garofollo’s Falcons improved to 10-3 after winning three of four matches.
Ludlowe defeated Bacon Academy (51-27), Maloney of Meriden (48-27) and Berlin High (42-20) before it lost 47-20 to 12th-ranked Glastonbury in the final.
The match was tied at 20 after eight weights wrestled, but Glastonbury won the last six bouts to earn the title.
Ben Brzoski had four pins at 182 pounds and 120-pound Marcus Sherrod was also 4-0.
Ben Batulanon at  113 won three matches and lost a 3-2 decision to Glastonbury.
Joe Sokolski at 170 also won three matches.
Ludlowe’s next match is Thursday at New Canaan at 7 p.m. and the Falcons will wrestle in the Warde Invitational beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
