Fairfield Social Services seeks community help for camp program

The Campership Program of the Fairfield Social Services Department is seeking community support. There are 10 children waiting to hear if they will be able to attend a local camp program this summer. Each child may be eligible to receive a maximum of $300 when their families document their income eligibility by meeting with a social worker in the Human Services department. Fairfield Social Services needs to raise an additional $3,000 this month for these children.

Campership requests from the school and community increased this year. Last summer, the Campership program helped 21 children from low-income Fairfield families by fundraising $4,200. This year, Fairfield Social Services has already helped 35 children by fundraising more than $4,800.

Financial support of a cash or check donation of any amount payable to Fairfield Social Services will help. Fairfield Social Services is located at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities, 100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield CT 06824.
