Fairfield Public Library hosts pizza party, movie and teen summer challenge game

Teens — start your summer with a pizza party and a movie in the downUNDER at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road on Wednesday, June 20, at 12:45 p.m. The movie, A Wrinkle in Time will be shown, and there will be information  about this year’s “Libraries Rock!” Teen Summer Challenge. The Teen Summer Challenge is an online game that gives you a chance to win prizes from area businesses by reading books, watching movies, listening to music, or attending Library events. Do any of these activities and post a short review on our Summer Challenge blog to qualify for prizes. For teens and tweens entering grades 6 and up.

Teen Librarian Jen Laseman has also put together fun special events for teens this summer including rock painting, robot making, rock climbing, cooking with a professional chef, temporary tattoos, a retro games week, a 3-day teen sewing camp and four Fandoms meet-ups to discuss all things pop culture while eating pizza. To rock out the summer there will be an “End of Summer Reading Rock Concert” featuring the Fairfield School of Rock’s House Band on August 15.

Sign up for the Teen Summer Challenge any time by visiting the Teen page on the Library’s website.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free. For more information about teen summer programs, visit fairfieldpubliclibrary.org, or call 203-256-3160. Follow the Fairfield Public Library on Twitter @fairfieldpublib and Facebook @fairfieldlibrary.
