Fairfield Police say crash brings down wires; power is being restored

Mill Plain Road is closed between Maple Road and Pell Meadow Drive Monday morning, May 14, after a car struck a utility pole.

Fairfield police say wires are down.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route; as of 9 a.m. police estimated the road would be closed at least two hours.

United Illuminating reports there are 219 people without power in Fairfield as of 10:30 a.m. Crews are responding to the crash site.
