Author Talk with Jennifer Zeynab Joukhadar

Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road hosts Syrian American author Jennifer Zeynab Joukhadar who will discuss her debut novel, The Map of Salt and Stars, on Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m.

Joukhadar’s novel is to Syria what The Kite Runner was to Afghanistan. It is the story of two girls living eight hundred years apart — a modern-day Syrian refugee seeking safety and a medieval adventurer apprenticed to a legendary mapmaker. This novel places today’s headlines in the sweep of history, where the pain of exile and the triumph of courage echo again and again.

Books will be available for purchase and signing at this event. Registration is requested.
