Congregation Beth El to honor 2018 Couple of the Year

Congregation Beth El will honor Gayle and Adam Kuhr of Fairfield as “2018 Couple of the Year” on Saturday, April 21. The gala event will have a “Roaring 20s” theme and will feature casino games, including poker, roulette, blackjack and craps, along with gourmet dining, dancing, and an open bar.

Attendees will receive “Kuhr’s Kash” for games.

Adam and Gayle met through a mutual friend in Hillel, and were married in 2003. They joined Beth El in 2007 when their eldest son Jack was born, but knew they had truly found a home while saying Kaddish for both of their fathers at morning minyan in 2009 & 2010, and more so upon moving to Fairfield from Milford with the birth of Eli in 2011.

Gayle was a very active member of the Spiritual Life Committee, and in 2013 joined the Board of Directors as Vice President of Membership. Today Gayle is serving in her third year as President of the Sisterhood, while also continuing to commit seemingly endless energy as co-chair of our annual Comedy Night & Auction Fundraiser, our 2nd Night Community Seder (which she founded five years ago), and the synagogue’s Human Resources Committee as well. Outside of synagogue life, Gayle maintains a full-time career as a Director of Strategic Client Partnerships with ADP, volunteers with Operation Hope, and is active with Habitat for Humanity and the Women’s Build Program known as “She Nailed It”.

Adam, an award-winning Copywriter & Creative Director, is more the creative type than managerial, but is no less dedicated to Beth El. He has served for many years on the Education Committee, and wrote and produced our new B’nai Mitzvah Guidebook. Adam also founded and chairs the Beth El Marketing Committee, having served the same role for the Kosher BBQ Championship events, and is now leading the full redesign of the Beth El website and branding that is coming this year. Additionally, he wrote & managed the creation of all the posters, banners, brochures, and newsletters for the wonderful ATID Campaign.
