Police received a 911 call from Nutmeg Bowl, 802 Villa Ave. at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, March 31.

Fairfield Police said officers determined that a verbal argument between Jose Maldonado and another individual occurred inside the bowling alley. The men made threats to each other before going outside to the parking lot.

Police said that in the parking lot one man may have attempted to strike the other with his car, and in the process, Maldonado fired a pistol at the car. No one was injured during the incident.

Officers found a bullet hole in the rear driver’s side door of the vehicle, in addition to a spent shell casing matching a pistol that was located in a vehicle of one of the people involved.

Maldonado, 26, of James Street in Bridgeport, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm. He was held in lieu of a $15,000 bond and is due at state Superior Court in Bridgeport April 12.
