Fairfield Republicans to hold caucuses and conventions to nominate candidates

Fairfield Republican Town Committee (RTC) Chairman James Millington announced that the Fairfield RTC will hold a caucus on Monday, April 2 to nominate candidates to serve as delegates for the state convention, state senate convention and the 134th district state representative convention. The nominations will take place in the Board of Education conference room, 501 Kings Highway East, Fairfield, at 7:30 p.m. Members of the current RTC will vote on the nominations.

Millington stated state convention delegates will represent Fairfield Republicans in nominating candidates for governor, lt. governor, secretary of state, comptroller, treasurer, attorney general, congress and U.S. senate at the state convention held at Foxwoods Casino between May 11 and 12. The delegates for the 28th state senate convention will convene on Monday, May 14, at 7 p.m., at Samuel Staples Elementary School, 515 Morehouse Road, Easton. Delegates for the 134th state representative convention will convene on Wednesday, May 16, at 7 p.m., at Burr Elementary School, 1960 Burr Street, Fairfield

Millington further noted that a caucus will be held on Thursday, May 24, at 7 p.m., at the Board of Education conference room, 501 Kings Highway East, for the purposes of nominating candidates for judge of probate and state representative in the 132nd and 133rd districts.
