Save the Children hosts ‘Solidarity with Syria’ event

Fairfield-based global humanitarian organization Save the Children will host “Solidarity with Syria,” an interactive session with members of the local Syrian community, students from local schools and Save the Children staff, volunteers and partners to mark the seventh year of conflict in Syria. The event will take place Wednesday, March 14, at 11 a.m., at Save the Children, 501 Kings Highway East, Fairfield.

Syrian community members who recently have resettled in the Fairfield area will share their experiences of leaving their home country. The program will culminate with attendees coming together to show their support by writing “seven-word messages of hope” for the children of Syria, which will be displayed in Save the Children’s office and delivered to our colleagues in the region to share with the children they are intended for.

Save the Children gives children in the United States and around the world a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. Follow on Facebook and Twitter.
