First Presbyterian hosts Holy Week events

Prayer Breakfast — Share a free french toast breakfast and reflect upon the crucifixion on Good Friday, March 30, at 8:30 a.m.

Maundy Thursday Service — A Tenebrae service will be held on Maundy Thursday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m., in the Sanctuary. The word Tenebrae is Latin for “shadows.” You will experience the darkness of Jesus’ days before the resurrection; the betrayal, abandonment and the agony that he endured for us. The service is left unfinished because the story isn’t over until Easter Day. A simple soup and bread supper prior to the service will be hosted by the Youth Group.

Easter Day Worship Service — Celebration of the resurrection, celebrating with the Lord’s Supper and a mix of traditional and contemporary special music. Easter Day, April 1, at 10 a.m., is a day of rejoicing following the darkness of Maundy Thursday and the sorrow of Good Friday.
