Kaiserin Augusta Victoria, the wife of Kaiser Wilhelm II

History lecturer Dr. Mona Garcia returns to the Fairfield Public Library for a four-part presentation on the wives of the monarchs who presided over the British, German, Russian, and Austro-Hungarian empires during the First World War. The first talk will examine the life of Kaiserin Augusta Victoria, the wife of Kaiser Wilhelm II on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m., in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Additional talks in the series include: Queen Mary, Wife of King George V, Feb. 27; Tsarina Alexandra, Wife of Tsar Nicholas, March 20; Empress Zita, Wife of Emperor Charles, March 27. Registration is requested.

Mona Garcia has a PhD in history and has taught European history at the college level. She has presented conference papers in the United States and Great Britain and has been published in her field of English history. She is a Reference Associate at the Main Library.
