Hospital bed found in woods

Fairfield Police are trying to learn exactly why an apparently new hospital bed and medical supplies were located in the woods off of Wakeman Lane on Dec. 9. It appears they may have been props in a film, but no one is coming forth to claim ownership.

The items were found in the woods near 288 Wakeman Lane and reportedly were visible from the road.

A Wakeman Lane resident spotted the oddity of a hospital bed in the woods while walking his dog.

With the bed were several bags of saline solution and equipment for an IV drip. A placard on the bed traced it back to an Ansonia medical supply store.

Residents interviewed by police said some sort of filming had recently taken place in the woods. An officer noted he recalled a report several weeks ago where one neighbor approached the people filming, supposedly younger persons, and had a verbal altercation with one of their mothers.

Some residents believe the people renting a nearby home are involved with a production company in New York, but are seldom at the Fairfield home. There was no answer at their door.

The saline and other IV related materials were confiscated and safely destroyed. Police are investigating.
