A home health aide was arrested Nov. 30 in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars from a patient.

Vanessa Taylor, 46, of Beham Avenue in Bridgeport, has been charged with second-degree larceny and second-degree forgery.

The daughter of an Old Field Drive resident contacted police in April of 2008 to report that checks had been stolen from her mother’s checkbook, and unauthorized withdrawals had been made from her mother’s bank account.

Working with fraud investigators, Fairfield Police determined that Taylor stole and wrote $2,100 worth of checks, made another $600 in withdrawals and paid a total of $663 in cable television bills.

Taylor worked in the victim’s house.

Bond was $3,500 for court Dec. 7.
