Celebrate the release of Stephen Colbert’s new book, Midnight Confessions, with the book’s award-winning illustrator Sean Kelly during a reception for Book Release: Sean Kelly on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 5-6:30 p.m., at the Pequot Library. There will be a 30- to 40-minute illustrator talk with Kelly, followed by a reception, book sales, and signing. Light appetizers will be served. The program is free and open to the public.

The book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster writes, “Midnight Confessions by Stephen Colbert and the staff of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is Stephen Colbert at his most brilliant and irreverent. Forgive him, Father, for Stephen Colbert has sinned. He knew it was wrong at the time. But he went ahead and did it anyway. Now he’s begging for forgiveness. Based on his popular segment from The Late Show, Stephen Colbert and his team of writers now reveal his most shameful secrets to millions (although, actually, he’d like you not to tell anyone).”

Midnight Confessions is an illustrated collection of Stephen Colbert at his best with illustrations by Sean Kelly.

Kelly is an illustrator whose clients include The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Businessweek, Rolling Stone, and The Atlantic. His visual commentaries on politics have appeared on the op-ed page of The New York Times. He has won awards from The Society of Illustrators and was named Best Newspaper Illustrator in 2007 by the National Cartoonists Society (seankellystudio.com). He is a graduate of Brown University, and in 2012 he received a USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Program Fellowship in Los Angeles.
