Love & Friendship is set in 18th century England, with the seductive and manipulative Lady Susan (Kate Beckinsale) using devious tactics to win the heart of the eligible Reginald De Courcy (Xavier Samuel). This 2016 critically acclaimed period comedy is an adaptation of young Austen’s novella Lady Susan, believed to have been written in the mid-1790s and finally published by her nephew, James Edward Austen-Leigh, in 1871.
