Social Services seeks school supplies

The Town of Fairfield’s Department of Social Services needs the community’s help to provide school supplies and clothing to more than 100 children.

Donations are not up to last year’s levels and time is running out as the Aug. 14 deadline approaches. Last year, the department’s Back-to-School program provided new backpacks, shoes and other essentials to 102 children from 54 low income families.

Social Services is again asking for donations of money or gift cards in any amount from stores like Staples, Target, Kohl’s, and Old Navy. Drop off donations at the Bigelow Center’s Social Services Department, 100 Mona Terrace Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or send monetary donations to Town of Fairfield Social Services, 100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield, CT 06824.

For more information, call Social Services at 203-256-3170.
