Rock Docs to perform at Bigelow Center

Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) will present a free concert on Wednesday, June 21, from 6:30-8 p.m., on the front lawn of the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities, 100 Mona Terrace.

They call themselves Do Not Resuscitate (DNR), a moniker that reflects their macabre sense of humor since almost all the local rock band’s members are practicing physicians (rumor has it there’s a lawyer among them). DNR was originally formed in 2002, when a group of four musically inclined doctors got together in a friend’s garage to play rock music. It was a way of unwinding at the end of a hectic day at the office. Initially, the band was comprised of two rhythm guitars, keyboard, and drums.

Over the last 10 years, the band has gradually grown to seven members but has remained true to its original classic rock ’n roll roots. The band eventually moved beyond the garage and now practices at a fabric warehouse where the acoustics are great.

The concert if free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair. Underwriting for the concert is from Friends of the Bigelow Senior Center and Rocco & Associates Wealth Management.

Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) will play at the Bigelow Center June 24.
