Teen Summer Challenge kicks off with pizza party

The annual Teen Summer Challenge at the Fairfield Public Library kicks off with a pizza party on Thursday, June 15, from 2:50-4:45 p.m., downUNDER at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road. Learn more about the Summer Challenge and watch the The LEGO Batman Movie. Registration is required.

This year’s theme is “Build a Better World” and, as always, the Challenge is not just about reading, it’s about discovering, creating, doing and volunteering.

Teens entering grade 6 and up can begin by visiting fplteenspeak.wordpress.com for Summer Challenge details. Once you’ve registered and set up your personal profile, you can start earning points toward prizes. The more points earned the more chances to win. Prizes, including the legendary Mystery Prize, will be raffled off at the annual finale party on Aug. 3. There also will be a weekly raffle for gift cards to local and online stores.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free. To register, or for more information on these and other programs, visit fairfieldpubliclibrary.org, or call 203-256-3160. Follow the Fairfield Public Library on Twitter @fairfieldpublib and Facebook @fairfieldlibrary.
