Kiley puts Fairfield’s needs before politics

To the Editor:

On June 6, a special election will be held in Fairfield to determine who will serve as Selectman on the town’s governing body. This is a significant election for our town as it will set the stage for how our great town is navigated through what could be some very rough waters over the next few of years with the financial issues facing the state, that will most definitely affect our town’s funding and future budgets. Before we start to make our summer plans, it’s important that all of our registered voters take the time to exercise their right to vote in this important town election. I will be casting my vote for Kevin Kiley.

Kevin has a long history serving the community of Fairfield, beginning with the RTM, Chairman of the Board of Finance for several years and most recently as Selectman. He has a tremendous financial acumen, which will be required to guide our town’s financial health for a secure future.

I have had several personal conversations with Kevin over the past few months and I also attended the Fairfield Education Association Candidate Forum on May 3rd and was impressed with his knowledge of the issues that face our town. He listens, is committed to our schools, our seniors and in keeping Fairfield an affordable and desirable place to live.

When Mr. Kiley served on the Board of Selectmen, he worked very well with his colleagues including the first selectman. Meetings ran smoothly, things got done and people were treated with respect. I would like to see Kevin Kiley back on the Board of Selectmen, as he is fiscally responsible, extremely courteous and has put the town’s needs before politics, which is refreshing.

Kevin Kiley has dedicated a good portion of his adult life in service to the town of Fairfield and I know he will continue to serve the town well as Selectman again.

On June 6 vote Kevin Kiley Selectman!
