LETTER: Vote for Kevin Kiley on June 6

To the Editor:

I have sadly watched as Fairfield has devolved over the years, reflecting the bitter divide afflicting the rest of the country. As a result when we have a neighbor who puts public service over party politics we should pay attention.

Kevin Kiley has been serving Fairfield for over two decades in a variety of roles and understands how far we’ve frayed around the edges. He has been representing our friends and neighbors with cool clear reasoning and balancing the town’s needs against the tax burden. There are choices and consequences to each vote and while the Republicans continue to slash because their ideology demands it, Kiley has been speaking about how that diminishes us all.

Kiley knows we need well stocked libraries, regularly paved roads and keen oversight over the school side of the budget. He has worked with parents to restore funds after misguided deep cuts at the hands of the super-majority Republican-led RTM. While his efforts toward the 2011 referendum to restore financial sanity failed. His dedication to the residents shone clear.

He speaks his mind, listens rather than pontificates and deserves our confidence. I urge my fellow neighbors to vote for Kevin Kiley on June 6.

Kevin W. Flynn
