Poilce seek help recovering stolen paintings

Police are seeking the public’s help in its efforts to recover two stolen paintings.

On Feb. 27, Fairfield Police received a report of a painting stolen from the estate of William Lloyd, 340 Mill Hill Road, Southport.

Chase Bank, the estate manager notified Fairfield Police that a classic oil on canvass painting by Dale William Nichols, titled “Near the Foot Hills” was stolen. The painting is approximately 25-inches by 28-inches, and valued at approximately $20,000 by appraisers associated with Chase Bank.

An additional painting by James Bama, Titled “Portrait of a Sioux” was also discovered missing.

The Fairfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau has been following up on this case and has developed a strong suspect. Anyone with information should contact Det. Jason Takacs of the Fairfield Police Department 203-254-4840.
