Eagle Scout Service Project helps Operation Hope

Jonathan Porrazzo, of Troop 199 in Fairfield, recently completed his Eagle Scout Service Project for the benefit of Operation Hope.

With the help of volunteers from his troop, family and friends, Jonathan lead the design, build, painting and installation of 30 wooden risers for Operation Hope’s food pantry. The risers help to keep donated food off the floor as required by health regulations. Prior to the installation of the risers the pantry used empty crates to accomplish this requirement; these crates will now be used by the pantry for more donated food.

Operation Hope provides the opportunity for individuals and families to experience transformative change. By addressing basic needs for food and shelter, as well as offering long-term solutions to hunger and homelessness, including affordable housing, life skills training and personalized clinical support, we help people reach their potential in an environment where compassion inspires dignity and hope.
