Wrestling: Fairfield Warde to host Invitational

Fairfield Warde’s Tim Kane is the defending FCIAC champion at 132 pounds.

The Fairfield Warde Invitational will be hosted by coach Jason Shaughnessey Mustang wrestling team on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Joining Warde will be Fairfield Ludlowe, Notre Dame of Fairfield, Fairfield Prep, Middletown, Montville, Staples, Cheshire, Wilton, Hand, Stamford, Westhill, Brien McMahon, Maloney, Simsbury, Northwestern and the Warde B team.

Wrestling will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the round of 16 will take place on four mats from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m.

The quarterfinals are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on three mats.

Semifinals and consolation quarters will run from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on four mats.

Consolation semis go from 3 to 4 p.m.

Consolation finals and finals will take place from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.

Awards will immediately follow the finals.
