Second annual Fairfield Santa Fun Run Saturday

The second annual Fairfield Santa Fun Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, beginning at 11 a.m. in front of the Town Green Christmas Tree, 275 Old Post Road and finishes at Colony Grill, 1520 Post Road. Christmas carols begin at 10:30 a.m. Come dressed in your best Santa, Elf, or Christmas costume to run, jog, and even walk through downtown Fairfield via Post Road.

The annual Fairfield Santa Fun Run is a free family oriented two-mile “run” in celebration of  the joy of Christmas, family and friends.

“We decided in 2014 that we wanted to start an annual community event for local families and friends to do something fun and active to celebrate Christmastime that had nothing to do with packages, boxes or bags,” said Robert O’Boyle, event coordinator.

The event is free, but runners are encouraged to bring canned goods that will be dropped off at Operation Hope.

Race winners will be recognized in more than four categories; awards will be given to the best dressed and all participants will be eligible for the many raffle prizes donated by local businesses. The post-race party will begin at the Colony Grill when all runners finish.

For questions about the race, contact Robert O’Boyle at 917-297-1985 or via Facebook at Fairfield Santa Fun Run.
