LETTER: Time for a Change in Hartford

Letter-to-the-EditorNEWTo the Editor:

Under Governor Malloy, Connecticut has sunk to incredible lows. Brietbart News reports that Connecticut ranks 50th in its fiscal health with a total debt of $20.88 billion and another $83.31 billion in unfunded pensions. Mercatus stated that Connecticut’s fiscal state is poor across all categories that cover cash on hand, budgeting, long-term planning, citizen services and trust fund solvency. The Yankee Institute for Public Policy reported that Connecticut is one of only four states to not have enough assets to cover their liabilities.

The list goes on and on. We are nearing the point of no return to a fiscal meltdown unless we make a change. We need to send people to Hartford who will be part of that change and not part of the problem. Cristin McCarthy Vahey’s record shows that she has been part of the problem.

She may be a nice person and make great campaign promises, but her record of voting 98% of the time with Governor Malloy and her party leaders tells a very different story. Unfortunately, McCarthy Vahey did not keep her campaign promises and we can’t trust that she will change that in the next two years.

We need change now. Please vote for Ray Neuberger for State Representative in the 133rd on November 8th.
