Fred Garrity and CT United Ride distributes $40,000

On Friday Oct. 21, Fred Garrity Jr., executive director of the CT United Ride (and Democratic candidate for the 134th State representative for Fairfield and Trumbull), Peter Carozza president of The UPFFA of CT, along with special guest presenter Alyssa Taglia Miss Connecticut 2016, distributed proceeds totaling $40,000 to this year’s 2016 CT United Ride Fund recipients. The event was held at Vazzy’s Brick Oven on Broadbridge Avenue in Bridgeport.

This year Fairfield Fire received $1,250, Fairfield Police K9 received $1,250, and Fairfield Police Cadets received $750 — directly, which is above the statewide donation on their behalf to the emergency relief funds.

The 2016 CT United Ride held on 9/11/2016 remains CT’s largest 9/11 Tribute, and the largest fundraising event in Connecticut for Police and Firefighters. This year reaching over 20,000 people including 2500 riders and over 18,000 spectators.
