Historical Explorations of Egypt at the Fairfield Public Library

The Fairfield Public will be hosting a program that will provide An Introduction to Ancient Egyptian History on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m.,  in the Rotary Room of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Egyptology expert, Mostafa Hassan will provide a basic introduction to the fascinating culture and history of ancient Egypt. He will begin with the Old Kingdom and the Pyramid builders and continue through King Tut and the 18th Dynasty (the New Kingdom). The relationships of religion, art and archaeology will be examined.

Hassan is a lecturer on the ancient and contemporary history of Egypt and the Middle East.  He has more than twenty years of experience in cultural and responsible tourism, leading trips to ancient and historical sites throughout Egypt.  He is the director and founder of Educational & Cultural Travel and he holds degrees in Egyptology and History from the University of Helwan and Cairo University in Egypt.  He also has an MA in “Global Development and Peace” from the University of Bridgeport.

Advance registration is required due to the limited space.
