Young adult writing workshops begin at Pequot Library

Starting this Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., teens are invited to write in a supportive environment during a workshop led by the teen librarian, Christine Catallo, MLIS. It is free and open to ages 13-17.

There will be 6-8, 15-minute writing periods and before each one, a prompt will be given for inspiration. At the end of the workshop, teens are given the opportunity to share their work from the program with the group, but it’s not required. Teens can hone writing skills or come away with inspiration for a longer work.

Christine Catallo, MLIS, received her degree in English Literature from Franklin & Marshall College. Two of her short stories are published in the college’s magazine, Alumni Arts Review. She is an avid reader and a passionate writer.

Additional young adult writing workshop dates include: Saturdays, November 5 and December 10, 2016. For more information contact, Christine Catallo, 203-259-0346, ext. 19 or [email protected]
