Fairfield Public Library holds two getting ready for college programs

College search expert Mary Spiegel and test prep expert Lynn Carnegie return to the Fairfield Public Library this fall to offer college planning advice for high school students and their parents. Spiegel visits on Wednesday, Sept. 7 to discuss the best practices for getting into the colleges that best fit your needs. She will cover the search process and provide an overview of the steps and strategies to use to create a plan for success in the coming months and years.

Then on Monday, Sept. 12, Carnegie will review the ins and outs of standardized testing, addressing the different tests (PSAT, SAT, and ACT), which have all made important changes in 2015-2016. Both programs will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Registration is requested.

Mary Spiegel is a certified educational planner with 20 years of college admissions experience, both as a director of admissions and as an independent educational consultant. Lynn Carnegie is the co-founder of Carnegie Pollak Test Prep. She has been preparing students for optimum performance on college entrance exams since 1984.

Other Getting Ready for College Programs this fall include “How to Pay for College Without Bankrupting Yourself…or Your Children” on October 4 and “Why Choose a Community College?” on November 14.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free.  To register, or for more information on these and other programs, visit fairfieldpubliclibrary.org, or call 203-256-3160.
