Supports Brenda Kupchick for a second term

To the Editor:

I was recently asked by a resident new to the 132nd District if I knew Brenda Kupchick. I was pleased to say that not only have I known Brenda for well over 15 years, but I count her among my friends and I strongly support her candidacy for a second term in the General Assembly.

Brenda earned her stripes as a constituent services representative for Congressman Chris Shays for seven years, following which she handled constituent services/public affairs under John McKinney in the State Senate Republican office, all while running a small heating and air conditioning business with her husband.

In these positions Brenda learned the importance of maintaining a constant dialogue with constituents. Brenda is not one of these elected officials you hear from only in quarterly mailings. She is constantly connected with the people who elected her. Most notably were her daily reports using smart phones and other mobile devices following Hurricane Irene to keep fellow Fairfielders informed of her contacts with the utility companies.

Whether it’s her immediate response in emergency situations or her ongoing efforts to promote excellence in education for our children, or helping the needy through Operation Hope or volunteering for animal rescue groups and shelters, Brenda is a concerned and persistent advocate whom we should strongly support on Election Day.
