‘How can Kim help?’

To the Editor:

As a legislator, Kim Fawcett is on record for attending only 38.5% of her committee meetings and public hearings in 2012. How can Kim help bring jobs back to Connecticut, a state with a staggering 9% unemployment rate, if she doesn’t show up to work as a legislator?

The obvious question is: What would happen to any of us if we showed up for work only half the time?

Kim evidently doesn’t understand or show any sense of alarm with regard to our state’s bad and worsening fiscal and competitive condition. Connecticut is collapsing from debt and Kim is most proud of her work on “Fair TV” per a recent interview with the Fairfield Minuteman. When asked in that interview what she sees as critical issues for the next two years, her answers included “… distracted drivers.” Kim does not mention deficits, debt, unfunded liabilities, unfunded mandates, gasoline prices, electricity prices, etc., as if it is indeed just business as usual for her and the Hartford bosses that she votes with 98% of the time.
