Harry Potter “8” release party at Fairfield Public Library

The release of the 8th Harry Potter story, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is stirring up Potter mania here and abroad. The Fairfield Public Library is planning an “old school” Harry Potter Midnight Release Party after hours on Saturday, July 30, at 7 p.m., at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Get sorted into your Hogwarts House, play Quidditch, compete in Bertie Bott’s taste testing and earn your OWLs in Potter trivia.

Start the party at the Library, then parade past Saugatuck Sweets and get a magical treat on the way to the Fairfield University Bookstore (just a short walk up the Post Road) for their party that starts at 9:00 pm.  Purchase your book at the stroke of midnight – Harry’s birthday! – when it officially goes on sale.  Costumes encouraged.  Registration is requested.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the unofficial 8th book in the Harry Potter series.  It is a play co-written by J. K. Rowling with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, recommended for children ages 10 and up.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free.  To register, or for more information on this and other programs, visit us online at: www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org, or call 203-256-3160.  Follow the Fairfield Public Library on Twitter:  www.twitter.com/fairfieldpublib and Facebook:  www.facebook.com/fairfieldlibrary.
