Museum After Dark presents: You Have No Idea!

On Thursday, July 21, the Fairfield Museum and History Center will present an interactive presentation on thinking creatively, called You Have No Idea! How To Be More Creative and Go From No Idea To Great Ideas. At this month’s Museum After Dark program, illustrator and teacher Sean Kelly will share tools for solving problems and becoming more imaginative and inventive. Whether you’re struggling to write a book, create a start-up or just want to learn to think creatively on your feet, this event is for you.

According to Kelly, “Creativity is not just for artists, and it’s not merely a talent some are born with. Creativity, is a skill — which can be developed, practiced and improved.” He will teach attendees how to apply the techniques of great creators and innovators to assignments and challenges in their own life and work.

Kelly’s award-winning illustration, visual journalism and political commentary have been featured in The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and The Boston Globe. Kelly’s humorous images of life in New York City ran each week in The New York Times’s popular column Metropolitan Diary, a series for which he won numerous awards. Since 2003, he has presented his Creativity Seminar which introduces a wide variety of creative thinking techniques and tools to develop ideas and solve problems.

The event is free for museum members and $5 for non-members. A wine and cheese reception will be held from 6-6:30. The presentation runs from 6:45 to 8 p.m.
