Vinyl Street Cafe ribbon cutting July 22

The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce has announced that its new member, Vinyl Street Cafe has scheduled its official ribbon cutting for Friday, July 22, at 5 p.m., 1895 Post Road, Suite C, Fairfield.

The owner, Joshua Wright, has a great appreciation for music and coffee. Josh was a manager at the Westport Starbucks in the 90s, and developed his interest, taste and barista skills for coffee during that time. And as an avid music listener, he always appreciated the warm sound that vinyl produced.

So as the story progresses, and as most local record stores started to close, Josh began selling vinyl online with the thought of opening a physical location at some point.  As online sales continued to grow, he realized that there was a demand for records.

After moving with his family to Fairfield in August 2015, he thought Fairfield was the perfect location to open his music cafe. He added coffee to the business plan, and decided to open Vinyl Street Café on the Post Road, as a café style, listening lounge.

The ceremony is open to the public; First Selectman Michael Tetreau will be in attendance.
