Presentation: Cruising Cuba Aboard Pandora

On Tuesday, July 12, at 2 p.m., The Watermark at 3030 Park will host “Cruising Cuba Aboard Pandora,” a presentation about their experience sailing around Cuba by guest speakers Bob and Brenda Osborn. The discussion will be held at the retirement community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.

The Osborn’s presentation at The Watermark at 3030 Park will discuss their experiences living full-time on a sail boat and their most recent excursion to Cuba.

Since the early 1980s, the Osborn’s have sailed through international waters on a succession of sailboats; their current vessel, Pandora, is a 47-foot composite cruising sailboat that was launched in Helsinski, Finland in 2007. Since retiring in 2012, the Osborn’s now split their year between their Essex home and sailing aboard Pandora.

The Osborn’s write about their travels on their blog, Their travel updates were devotedly read by Bob’s parents, Bob and Shirley Osborn Sr., former residents of The Watermark at 3030 Park. Bob Osborn Sr., who passed in 2014, served as president of the resident’s committee at the retirement community.

This event is just one of the many classes, lectures and trips offered through The Watermark to keep its residents active and engaged. It is free of charge for the public, however reservations to attend are required. For more information or to RSVP, contact The Watermark at 203-374-5611.
