Connecticut Audubon honors Bonnee Larsen and Ellie Morse

On May 21, the Connecticut Audubon Society hosted a dedication celebration honoring Constance “Bonnee” Larsen (1930-2014) and Eleanor “Ellie” Morse (1932-2015), two longtime friends, volunteers, and donors. More than 150 family members and friends gathered at the Center at Fairfield for the unveiling of a plaque in memory of the two wonderful ladies.

The women made many generous contributions to the Connecticut Audubon Society, including their most popular and highly anticipated Annual Holiday Boutique and Dinner — a year-round project for them.

Among those at the gathering were their husbands, Skip Morse and Bob Larsen. Bob’s parents, Roy and Margot Larsen, generously donated the land for the 155-acre Larsen Sanctuary surrounding the Center at Fairfield.

Peter Kunkel, chairman of the State Board of Directors, and Nelson North, executive director, addressed the crowd with heartfelt remembrances and gratitude as they commemorated the exceptional generosity, devotion, and leadership demonstrated by Bonnee and Ellie. In honor of their support and service, the memorial plaque is prominently displayed in the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Center at Fairfield.
