Fairfield Public Library hosts author Dick Jorgensen

Author Dick Jorgensen will discuss his new book, O Tomodachi on Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m., in the memorial room at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road. 

O-Tomodachi-CoverIn 1954, as a 29-year-old grad student, Dick was selected to be one of four “ambassador” teachers in a first-ever exchange program with Japan.  He would spend the next two years teaching at the University of Hiroshima, founded in the wake of the dropping of the atomic bomb there in 1945.  Dick will take you along on an incredible journey that was also the start of a lifelong love of all things Japanese.

Advance registration is required due to the limited space. All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free of charge.
