Prep falls to Amity

The Fairfield Prep football team lost a 24-21 SCC decision to Amity High in Woodbridge on Friday.
The Jesuits are 5-2 and the Spartans 3-4.
After a scoreless first quarter, John Moten scored on an 11-yard pass from Strecker Backe in the first quarter and Liam Coyle made the first of his three PATs.
Moten made it 14-0 with a one-yard run before Amity’s Tyler Burns returned the kickoff 80 yards for a score and Lyle Luth added the conversion kick to make it 14-7 at the half.
Amity tied the game at 14 on David Attolino’s nine-yard run and Luth’s PAT in the third quarter.
The Spartans took the lead on a 28-yard pass from Burns to Cory Ricks and Luth tacked on a 30-yard field goal to stretch the margin to 24-14.
Joseph Ganim closed the scoring for Prep with an 11-yard run.
