Person hit, killed by train in Milford

A person was hit and killed by a train in Milford Friday, local firefighters have reported.

Milford firefighters responded to a report of a pedestrian that was struck and killed by a train on the northbound side of the railroad tracks, in the area of Gulf Street and Buckingham Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. today.

Approximately 300 passengers were on the train at the time of the incident. No injuries to train passengers or staff were reported, fire officials said.

Metro North authorities and Milford police are investigating the incident, and no details have been released.
