Booters edged in quarters

The Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde girls soccer teams suffered one-goal losses in the FCIAC quarterfinals on Saturday.
The seventh-seeded Falcons lost to second-seeded St. Joseph of Trumbull on Sabrina Toole’s overtime goal.
Bridge Clarke had eight saves for Ludlowe (9-6-2) against the Cadets (12-2-2).
Fourth-seeded Warde dropped a 2-1 decision to fifth-seeded Greenwich High.
Emily Pullen scored a second-half goal for the Mustangs (10-4-3).
Carley Strachen had five saves and Katie Brennan six saves against the Cardinals (10-1-6).
