Junior League thanks 95th Anniversary Gala sponsors

The Board of Directors of the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County (JLEFC), along with its members, held its 95th annual Anniversary Gala on Saturday, April 2, at The Patterson Club in Fairfield, to celebrate and mark 95 years of legendary community service.

The funds raised at the evenings live auction directly support the JLEFC’s “Healthy Families, Healthy Futures” community projects, which impact at-risk Bridgeport families in the areas of literacy, healthy lifestyles and hunger and its Mission. Community partners in these endeavors include Center for Family Justice, Bridgeport YMCA, The Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiative, Thomas Hooker School, Mercy Learning Center, and Operation Hope.

The Gala was made possible with support from generous community sponsors including Fairfield Living Magazine, Henry C. Reid, People’s Bank, Pullman & Comley LLC and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The Flower Basket of Westport and 22 Candles of Wilton donated beautiful floral and cake designs.

“Our gala was the perfect way to commemorate our 95th anniversary year. We are grateful to our Members, many distinguished guests, community leaders and sponsors who joined us to support our League, its Mission and our community projects. Our Members volunteer thousands of hours a year to better the lives of those in greatest need in the Bridgeport area and we are deeply grateful to everyone for their support and proud to have made our community a more vital place for 95 years.” said President Samantha Collin.

Bidding was feisty and fun as guests outbid each other on items like a week’s stay in St. Thomas, a week in Killington, Vt., Yankees and Jets tickets, a stunning necklace from Henry C. Reid and a “Date Night For a Year” package that included gift certificates to twelve local  restaurants.

Guests were able to directly support our community programs as well during the live auction. These restricted funds will go towards book clubs the JLEFC runs at Thomas Hooker School, the monthly meal Members prepare for Operation Hope and the Healthy Families Dinner Series.
