The Paper Store joins the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to help cancer patients

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) has announced that The Paper Store, the largest family owned and operated chain of Specialty Gift Stores in New England, will be partnering with JAF from April 14-24 to assist in its mission of providing emotional and financial support to cancer patients and their families. The Fairfield store is located at 2255 Black Rock Turnpike.

The Paper Store, which has 59 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island and New Jersey, will sell JAF decals for a $1, $3 or $5 donation and will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Foundation. The decals, which were specially created for the partnership, will be sold by the check-out counters at all of their locations. The funds raised through the partnership with The Paper Store will directly support JAF’s financial assistance program, which provides grants that help patient families with everyday expenses, including rent and mortgage payments, utility bills, and more.

“Partnerships like this one with The Paper Store are invaluable because it allows us to be able to help even more cancer patients and their families,” said Joe Andruzzi, Foundation President. “We can’t thank The Paper Store enough for not only fundraising for the Foundation, but for helping us provide a little bit of relief for families whose lives are affected by cancer.”

The new partnership will also support Team JAF, the Foundation’s 2016 Boston Marathon runners, by spreading awareness of the team that is running 26.2 miles to not only raise funds for JAF, but to also share JAF’s (Up)Beat philosophy, which stresses the power of a positive attitude during difficult times. On Marathon Monday, April 18, The Paper Store will share live updates about Team JAF on their Facebook and Instagram, so that those who want to support from afar can still cheer the team on.

“The Paper Store is proud to support the Joe Andruzzi Foundation and their commitment to help cancer patients and their families. As a family-owned and operated business, giving back to the community and helping others is a very important part of who The Paper Store is,” said Tom Anderson, COO of The Paper Store. “We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and we hope that we can help support the Joe Andruzzi Foundation and educate our customers about all the wonderful work they do with families throughout the Northeast.”

For over 50 years, The Paper Store has called New England home and is eager to give back to a nonprofit organization like JAF, which directly helps the local community.

About the Joe Andruzzi Foundation

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation, founded in 2008, is committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families by contributing financial and emotional support when it is needed most, as well as funding pediatric brain cancer research. Joe Andruzzi, a former three-time Super Bowl winning offensive guard with the New England Patriots, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Burkitt’s lymphoma in 2007 and was treated at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Disease-free less than a year later, Joe dedicated his life to supporting other cancer patients and funding life-saving research. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is Joe and his wife Jen’s second philanthropic effort; in 2003, they started the C.J. Buckley Brain Cancer Research Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital in memory of C.J. Buckley, a young man with an inoperable brain tumor who touched their hearts before losing his battle in 2002. The fund supports much-needed, innovative research into the molecular nature of pediatric brain tumors, novel treatment therapies and alternatives to multiple surgeries.
