Absentee ballots available

Town Clerk Betsy P. Browne reminds Fairfield’s registered Republican and Democratic voters that absentee ballots for the April 26, 2016 Presidential Preference Primary are available in the Town Clerk’s Office.

A registered Republican may be qualified to use an absentee ballot for any of the following reasons; the voter will be out of town during all the hours of voting; their illness or disability prevents them from voting in person, or religious tenets prohibit secular activity on the day of election.

Absentee voting is a two-step process.  An application for a ballot must be signed and filed with the Town Clerk before a ballot can be issued.

Applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30 or call 203-256-3090.  The Town Clerk’s Office will also be open on Saturday, April 23, from 9-noon for absentee balloting.  Applications can be downloaded from the Town’s web page at fairfieldct.org/townclerk and sent to the Town Clerk at 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield 06824.
