FCIAC girls soccer pairings

The Trumbull Golden Eagles (12-1-3) locked up the No. 1 seed in the FCIAC girls soccer tournament with a 2-0 victory over the Ludlowe Falcons on Thursday in Fairfield.
Taking the No. 2 spot are the St. Joseph Cadets (12-2-2), who defeated Trinity Catholic, 4-0.
Ridgefield (11-2-3) jumped into the No. 3 spot as the Tigers tipped New Canaan, 1-0, at Tiger Hollow.
The Greenwich Cardinals (9-1-6) and Fairfield-Warde Mustangs (10-3-3) finished tied for fourth place with 33 points, but Warde took the No. 4 spot on a tiebreaker.
Warde and Greenwich played to a scoreless tie in their head-to-head meeting, so the second tiebreaker of quality wins was used.
Warde moved ahead based on its 1-0 victory over Trumbull this season.
As the 4 and 5 seeds, the Mustangs and Cardinals will meet again, with the game being played at Warde HS.
The sixth spot went to the Wilton Warriors (9-3-4), who leap-frogged over Ludlowe with an 8-2 rout of Central on Thursday.
Ludlowe (9-5-2) then took the No. 7 seed, with New Canaan (8-5-3) rounding out the playoff field as the No. 8 seed.
