Ice hockey: Fairfield to play North Branford in final

The Fairfield Warde-Ludlowe boys ice hockey team will be playing for the Division II state title.

The No. 2 Mustangs (18-5-1) defeated No. 3 Guilford, 5-1, in Monday’s semifinal.

They will take on No. 1 North Branford (20-4-1) for the championship on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Ingalls Rink.

The teams played to a 4-4 tie on Dec. 30.

The T-Birds advanced with a 7-1 victory over No. 12 East Haven.

Jake Fuss scored four goals and Jack McCormick had hour assists in the win over Guilford (15-7-2).
