Author Patti Woods presents her book Lost Restaurants of Fairfield, part of the What’s Cooking Series at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road, on Monday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

Discover lost classics from the Sun Tavern, where George Washington visited, to the Scenario, where local celebrities had a seat reserved at the bar. Remember the doughnuts at Devore’s, Art Green’s famous cream pies at the Pie Plate, ice cold beer at the Driftwood…?

Ms Woods is a native of Fairfield. She began her career with the Fairfield and Westport Minuteman newspapers and was a managing editor of Better Nutrition. As a freelancer her work has appeared in Health, Wine Spectator and Delicious Living. Current she writes the popular EatDrinkShopCook column that appears in the Fairfield Citizen and Westport News.
